Author Guidelines

Journal of Contemporary Economic Dynamics (JCED) invites authors to submit original, unpublished manuscripts in the fields of accounting, economics, Islamic economics, management, and related disciplines. Submitted manuscripts must strictly adhere to the following guidelines prior to submission.

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: The manuscript must be original, not previously published, and not currently under review elsewhere.
  • Language: Manuscripts may be written in standard English or formal Indonesian.
  • File Format: Submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx or .doc).
  • Length: 4,000 to 7,000 words (including tables, figures, footnotes, and references).
  • Page Setup: A4 paper size, 1.15 line spacing, Times New Roman (12 pt), with 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides.
  • Plagiarism Threshold: Similarity index must not exceed 20% (tested via Turnitin/iThenticate).

2. Manuscript Structure (IMRaD Format)

Articles should follow the standard academic structure:

Title: Concise, specific, and informative (maximum 16 words), capitalized properly.

Author Names & Affiliations: Full name(s) without academic titles, institutional affiliation, country, and active institutional email of all authors. Clearly designate the Corresponding Author. (Note: For initial blind review submission, author information must be omitted from the file).

Abstract: A single paragraph of 150–250 words outlining the research background, objective, methodology, key findings, and practical/theoretical contributions. Avoid acronyms and citations.

Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords or short phrases reflecting the core concepts, separated by semicolons (;).

1. Introduction: Clear statement of the research problem, theoretical background, gap analysis, state of the art, and research objectives.

2. Literature Review & Hypotheses Development (Optional/Integrated): Synthesis of relevant literature leading to hypothesis formulation or conceptual model.

3. Research Methods: Detailed explanation of research design, population and sample/data sources, operational definition of variables/constructs, and data analysis techniques.

4. Results and Discussion: Presentation of empirical findings accompanied by informative tables/figures, followed by deep critical discussion connecting findings to theory and previous studies.

5. Conclusion: Main findings, practical/policy implications, study limitations, and actionable recommendations for future research.

Acknowledgments (Optional): Acknowledge funding bodies, grants, or supporting contributors.

References: Minimum of 20 references, with at least 80% from primary sources (peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last 5–10 years).

3. Tables and Figures

  • All tables and figures must be numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and referenced directly in the text.
  • Tables must use standard open horizontal lines (no vertical lines).
  • Figures and charts must be sharp, high-resolution (minimum 300 DPI), and clearly readable.
  • Titles must be placed above tables/figures, and data sources (if any) placed directly below.

4. Reference Style & Reference Manager

  • JCED strictly uses APA 7th Edition (American Psychological Association) referencing style.
  • Authors are required to use reference management software (such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote).
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) must be included for every reference where available.

5. Online Submission Checklist

Authors should verify the following before submitting via OJS:

  • Manuscript adheres to the template and scope of JCED.
  • Author identities have been removed from the main document to ensure Double-Blind Peer Review.
  • All co-authors, affiliations, and metadata are accurately entered during the OJS submission step.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
