Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Contemporary Economic Dynamics (JCED) undergo a rigorous editorial screening and a Double-Blind Peer Review process. In this system, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain strictly confidential throughout the entire review lifecycle to guarantee an objective, fair, and unbiased evaluation.
Editorial & Review Workflow
1. Initial Desk Evaluation: The Editor-in-Chief and Section Editors conduct an initial assessment to verify whether the manuscript falls within the journal's focus and scope, complies with author guidelines, and satisfies basic academic quality standards.
2. Plagiarism Screening: Every submission is scanned using similarity-checking tools (Turnitin/iThenticate). Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will be rejected immediately or returned to the author for correction.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review: Manuscripts passing initial screening are assigned to at least two (2) independent peer reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise. Reviewers evaluate the paper based on theoretical originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and relevance of references.
4. Review Duration: Reviewers are typically given 2 to 4 weeks to provide structured feedback and recommendations.
5. Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the handling editor makes one of the following final decisions:
- Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted without further modifications.
- Revisions Required (Minor Revision): The manuscript requires slight improvements before acceptance.
- Resubmit for Review (Major Revision): The manuscript requires substantial restructuring, additional data, or deeper discussion, followed by a second round of review.
- Decline Submission: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards or scope.
6. Final Production & Copyediting: Accepted manuscripts proceed to language copyediting, layout formatting, reference proofing, author confirmation, and DOI assignment prior to online publication.
The final decision on manuscript acceptance or rejection rests entirely with the Editorial Board, guided by the reviewers' critical assessments and journal standards.
